I met Tristan in the car at sunrise, and he was smudged in places with grease, with two handprints on his ass; one over each pocket of his jeans.

“Why brother, did you top last night?” I teased and he blushed. “Wow. Was it good?”

“Only if he remembers me when I text him,” Tris replied. “So, how was Wren?”

“Hmm.” Nothing happened. Wren wasn’t even remotely interested in me and I wasn’t going to push it.

We walked into the house and Tristan saluted Kansas, who was standing at the bar drinking a cup of coffee. I straddled a chair, and Tris headed up to shower.

“Good,” Kansas murmured.

“What?” I asked as I banged my head into the counter.

“He got laid.”

“He topped,” I said.

“He’s versatile.” Kansas shrugged.

“And you know this how?” I asked.

“Oh, let’s see. He and Ari experimented. I got a lot of blow jobs from Ari but wouldn’t go all the way. I stopped letting Ari touch me at all. I wanted love. I was stupid,” Kansas said.

“I did, too, brother.” I sighed and Kansas made me a cup of coffee. “Thanks.”

“Welcome. I had to renounce Julian,” he said and I jerked my head back.

“Why?”

“He and Baz are now Jay-Baz. Gotta love Aunt Cattywhack.”

“She had someone split them and then put them back together?” I asked.

“Yup. I hadn’t seen him in a month. I wasn’t feeding from anyone but Tris and I was good. He’s Order, so once a month worked. She had them split, he cheated, and Baz was obsessed.” He sighed. “I watched a movie last night, read a book, and then made coffee.”

“I met an amazing straight guy,” I said. “He’s got a really cute straight brother, too.”

“Perfect.” Kansas smiled. “We’ll grow old in Essence, look hot for the rest of our lives, and pine after straight men, dreaming about the ones that got away.”
